JAMES SA'PEREIRA was a four year varsity starter for the Corning District soccer team. During his career, James tallied 22 goals and assisted on 16 others.
KEVIN SCANLON was a four-year starter for the Corning West lacrosse team, graduating in 1996. He became a member of the Vikings 100-point club with 102 goals along with 41 assists for 143 career points.
CHRIS SCANLON joins his older brother in this year's class of HOP inductees following a four-year career for the Coming West varsity lacrosse team. He was the team leader in goals, assists and ground balls.
REBECCA SCANLON graduated from Corning West High in 1997. She was instrumental in convincing the CPP School Board into approving girls lacrosse as a varsity sport.
DANE SCHNEIDER - Corning East High alumni (Class of 2003). Placed 3rd in 1600 meters in NYS Indoor Championship as senior. Section 4 champion in 600 meters & 1000 meters as senior. New York State champions in 4 x 800m relays.
MARIETTA SCHEER graduated from Corning East in 1977. She was a member of the Trojans girls track team for three years in the shot put and the discus. During her high school career, Marietta won both of these events in every dual meet except two.
KRISTEN (WHEATON) SCHOONOVER graduated from Corning East High School in 2001 following a volleyball career that was highlighted by three consecutive trips to the NYS Final Four tournament.
MELISSA SCHOONOVER graduated from Corning West High School in 1996. She was a key member of the Lady Vikings basketball team that captured the NYS Class B Championship in 1995, her junior season.
Francis H. Schilberger (deceased) lettered four years at Corning Free Academy from 1938 to 1941 as an outfielder and pitcher..."Hot Dog" batted close to .350 during his four-year varsity career.

Alberta Washburn Sebring (Ithaca, NY), was one of the finest girl athletes to come out of Corning Free Academy in the 1930s...her scholastic athletic career included four years as a member of the Bulldog basketball, tennis, volleyball, softball and track teams as well as spending two years as a cheerleader.
Gerald ‘Jerry’ Shaddock is a 1955 graduate of Corning Free Academy. During his high school days at CFA, Jerry earned a total of eleven letters while playing multiple sports but it was basketball where he excelled.
Gary Shaw has been an active participant in motorsports in this area for more than 40 years beginning in the 1950's with drag racing. He continued as one of New York States' top drag racers until 1971 when he became interested in road racing and joined the Glen Region Sports Club of America (SCAA).

KAREN SHADDOCK - Graduated from Corning East High in 2008, where she played four years varsity lacrosse. Went on to Buffalo State. Named Synapse Sports All-American as a senior as well as All-SUNYAC First Team as freshman, sophomore and senior and SUNTAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman. Now coalching Medaille College Women’s Lacrosse.

PAUL SIMONSON - Graduated from Corning East High in 1976 where he played four years for varsity golf team, lettering twice. Later became General manager of Indian Hills in 2004. Won the Indian Hills Club Championship five times and set course record in 1984 with a 65.

Dan Smith has been playing billiards for close to forty years and is one of the finest shooters to ever come out of the Corning area. Winning tournaments is second hand to Dan with wins spanning four decades.
Barb Smith (Corning) played softball for the Corning West varsity team for five seasons beginning as an eighth grader...she started as the everyday third baseman as a freshman and became a stalwart on defense and a valuable hitter in the lineup.

JIM SONNER has been one of the best bowlers in the Corning Association since he joined the adult leagues in 1992 as a young man just out of the junior leagues. Never intimidated, Jim helped his team win a City Tournament team title that first year.
ANNMARIE SPAULDING graduated from Corning East High in 2004 following an outstanding four-year basketball career. She averaged 10 points as freshman, 14 as sophomore, 17.4 as junior and 18 points per game as senior and finished her career with 1,077 points.
Richard Sparling has devoted over 25 years to the world of motorsports in the Coming area beginning in the 1940s when he was asked to install fence posts that would outline a 1/4 mile dirt race track inside Corning War Memorial Stadium. He soon became involved in those races driving a 1933 Plymouth.
Casey Spencer graduated from Corning East in 1996 and was one of the premier long distance runners ever to suit up for cross country and track teams. Four times she was named to the All-League in cross country and five times she was named to the All-League team in track and field.
Ted Sprague is a lifelong resident of Corning, attending schools here and graduating from Corning Free Academy. He got his first taste of rowing while attending Cornell University and has been in love with the sport ever since.
Jennifer Stamp graduated from Corning East in 1992 as the class valedictorian. She was a three-year starter for the lady Trojans basketball team and named to the All-STC all three years.
WILLIAM (BILL) STEELE JR. has been involved with coaching baseball in the Coming area for the past 33 years. He began as a volunteer coach with Little League in 1974 and after five years moved on to Babe Ruth League.
Bill Steele III graduated from Corning West in 1984 after a stellar career in baseball, basketball and football. While he lettered and was named All-League, first team or second team in all three sports, it was on the basketball court that Bill made his biggest contributions.
MARK STIRPE graduated from Corning East High in 1994. He was a key member of the Trojans lacrosse team as an outstanding goalie. As a senior, he anchored the Trojans defense and was named the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year on a team that had an undefeated regular season before losing in the state championship game.
ANDY STINSON graduated from Corning West in 1998 as a key member of the Vikings basketball team. He was the Mr. Inside to compliment Mr. Outside (Brad Breitwise) for Corning West in 1997 and 1998 forming an unstoppable combination that culminated in the Vikings first ever appearance in the NYS Final Four.
Jerry Stilwell was a three-year starter for Corning West High School during the mid 1980s prior to graduating in June of 1986. He excelled at wide receiver for the football team and was the starting point guard for the basketball team for three seasons that culminated with him being selected to the All-STC and All Twin Tiers teams as a senior.

ROBERT STREETEN, varsity lax coach at East High past 10 years, led school to 21-2 season IN ’90 and State Championship (13-7 over Yorktown), the first such state crown for any Corning scholastic team in past 100 years
FRED STULL is a lifelong resident of the Coming-Painted Post area having graduated from Corning West in 1970 and then later graduating from Corning Community College. Since 1983 Fred has been associated with th Corning Small Fry Football League.
Bill Suhr has served on the Coming-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame's Board of Directors for the past eleven years. For the past nine years. Bill has been in charge of putting together the program that is distributed at the annual Induction Dinner.
