TIMOTHY SCOUTEN
Wrestling - 2011

TIMOTHY SCOUTEN graduated from Corning East High in 1969 and was an outstanding wrestler in a program recognized as one of the best in the area under the guidance of coach Joe Corcoran. Tim turned into one of the strongest wrestlers on a team that featured Hall of Famer Chip Schwartz and standouts such as Dave Fulmer, Jim McCartney and John Schwartz. Tim joined this group of lightweights to form the nucleus of the team. As a senior he led the Trojans with 18 wins versus only four losses. He was named All-Conference and earned the Ken Wheeler Jr. Award as the Most Valuable Wrestler in the Corning East program. He went on to Corning Community College where he wrestled for coach John Polo.  He also played soccer and was named to the NJCAA, Region II, All-Regional Team for both wrestling and soccer and was recognized in the Who’s Who of American College in 1969 and 1970. Tim was also recognized in 1984 at the annual Lions Club Dinner as an honored guest and past outstanding athlete in the Corning School District.
