JOE STRATTON graduated from Corning East High in 1969 prior to attending Corning Community College, Cortland State, Mansfield University and Elmira College graduating with two bachelors degrees and his Masters Degree. Joe got involved with lacrosse while playing for Joe Cocoran at East and then at CCC. He went back to CCC as the head lacrosse coach in the mid1970's. But, Joe's greatest impact as a contributor has been at Corning West where he has served as girls varsity lacrosse coach for four years, the boys varsity lacrosse coach for 12 years, the assistant varsity football coach for three years and also filled in as the junior varsity basketball coach for a season. And during all this time, Joe has filled the role of Athletic Manager at West High, a job he has also taken over for NorthsideBlodgett middle school the past three years. Joe helped coordinate the Special Olympics in the area in the early 1980's and was a member of the Board of Directors of the ComingPainted Post Youth Lacrosse League, helping that organization get off the ground and becoming very successful. As one coach said "Joe does it all for the kids at West High. We'd be lost without him".
