Alberta Washburn Sebring (Ithaca, NY), was one of the finest girl athletes to come out of Corning Free Academy in the 1930s...her scholastic athletic career included four years as a member of the Bulldog basketball, tennis, volleyball, softball and track teams as well as spending two years as a cheerleader — led the CFA basketball team to 24 wins in 28 games during her last three years...averaged well over 10 points per game (outstanding numbers in the 1930s) during her basketball career and capped her senior season with an average of over 15 points per game...went on to Ithaca College where she participated in field hockey along with basketball and softball...from 1950 to 1957 she was the ladies golf champion at Hillendale Golf Course in Ithaca...member of the Ithaca College Hall of Fame, Alberta is a strong supporter of the Ithaca College Sports Booster Club...since 1977 she has served on the Executive Board of the Booster Club in the capacity of Vice-President.
