In December 2010, Governor Christie passed a law on Sports Concussion Injury Prevention and Management. This law impacts all youth recreation and travel soccer programs that are run through New Jersey Youth Soccer ('NJYS') and that apply to rent or use high school, public park or recreation fields. Clubs are required to submit not only a certificate of insurance, but school, park and recreation departments will require proof that all coaches using these complexes have received sports concussion training.
All recreation and travel coaches MUST take the online course and NJYS will require that coaches submit proof of having taken the course.
