,
Dear FSL Parents and Coaches,
FSL policy requires all parents involved in our travel and recreation program attend a short, but important Positive Coaching Alliance workshop, designed for parents. In an effort to help parents see the "bigger picture" that sports participation can impact, the following workshop for travel parents has been scheduled leading into the 2017 spring season:
Workshop Title: Developing Winners in Life Through Sports
This workshop explores the three stages of talent development and allows parents to share their ideas about what they want their children to get out of youth sports. Parents gain insight into the training the coaches are receiving to become “Double-Goal” coaches (coaches who want to both win AND develop the character of their players).
Dates: March 6th and March 13th (attend only one session)
Time: 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Location: Knights of Columbus (upstairs), 70 E. Main St., Freehold
Required Attendees: At least one parent of each player participating on a small-sided (U8 through U10) FSL travel team and any NEW players coming into the FSL travel program above U10 must have at least one parent in attendance. This is also a required workshop for all recreation soccer coaches (Boys/Girls Recreation Parents at all levels).
PLEASE NOTE: FSL strongly supports the principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance and has invested the time and financial resources to bring this worthwhile program to the club. Please participate with this in mind - thank you.
