WIFC wasn't able to turn things around in the rain at Randall's Island. Hoboken took a 2 goal lead into the end of the first half after some equal possession on both sides of the ball.

In the 2nd, John Kaddo hit one firmly past the keeper when it fell to him on the backside after Ian Goodall flicked on a corner. WIFC seemed to be gaining some ground as they applied the pressure, but it was not meant to be. A cross was cleared to the top of the box where Hoboken struck a solid volley on the ground that could not be stopped on the wet surface. A little while later they put the game away with a well struck shot from distance. WIFC was not able to climb out of that deficit.
