T.O.P. Soccer Program

T.O.P. Soccer stands for "The Outreach Program," and is US Youth Soccer’s community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability. Volunteer teenage “buddies” are paired with students, and together they participate in stretching and ball work, fun games and skill development. All activities are led by a STA trainer.

Participants play every Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 AM on "The Level Playing Field" in front of Turf Field B at Heavenly Farms. The season runs from April 2nd through June 4th; however registrations are still being accepted.

Please go to the following link to register: http://ebsoccer.com/player_reg/index_E.html

Then select “Click here to begin” to register.

The registration fee for players is  $25  for the season.  There is no charge for being a volunteer, but volunteers must be at least 12 years old.

TOPSoccer is tops for local kickers
Inaugural Season April 2nd, 2011 a huge success
Not even some chilly temperatures and gusty winds could dampen the enthusiasm of the more than 50 players and buddies who participated in the inaugural session of the East Brunswick Soccer Club’s new TOPSoccer program at Heavenly Farms’ new level playing field.

TOPSoccer, short for "The Outreach Program for Soccer," is EBSC’s newest soccer program -- a weekly session for the community’s special needs children and teens.

Assisted by volunteer buddies from East Brunswick High School, other area high schools and even local colleges, the TOPSoccer players had the opportunity to dribble and pass and begin to enjoy the fun of "the beautiful game." They even had the chance to score goals and make some big saves.

"It was a great day, and we’re very proud that we, in following the lead of the other great special needs sports programs in town, can now offer more kids in our community the chance to play soccer," said Jim Harmon, EBSC’s president. "The kids had a great time, and we couldn’t have made this happen without our great buddies, the support of so many volunteers and parents and members of our EBSC board."
