Infinity FC vs. Queen City Cosmos

Another nice victory for the Infinity boys.  We were buoyed by the return of midfielder Tommy Volpe who deftly finished our second goal of the match from a set piece.  Lucimar Dos Santos and Pete Morgan once again combined for the first tally of the match keeping thier hot streak alive.   Cosmos struck late off a second ball following a long set piece, but we were able to see the match out and secure another 3 points, bringing our record to a tidy 6-0-1 on the season.

The lads who were present had to put in tough shifts, as the roster was a bit depleted by Father's Day festivities and the month long sojourn of our Polish striker, Mariusz Radwanski, back to the old country.  Add in a few strains and sprains and we were down to 11 by the end of the match, but the boys pulled through in the Infinity Way.

Greg Blette and Drew Fiutko were stalwarts in the back limiting opportunities as ever.  Tommy Notto played his best match of the season in the net.  He was unlucky to lose the clean sheet off of an unfortunate bounce while clearing the above mentioned set piece.  Ken Kulwicki, Billy Seifert, Brady Thompson, Danny Carter, and the aforementioned Tommy Volpe patrolled the midfield and made it difficult for Cosmos to press the attack.

All in all a workman's type performance to secure the 3 points.  Wasn't our prettiest effort, but it was what was needed on the day.  We look forward to next Sunday's tilt with Rust Belt United and hope to keep our unbeaten season rolling!
