The Unicornios registered another win behind solid defense and exciting scoring. Katrina Duran started off the scoring for the Unicornios on a worm burner that snuck past everyone and found the twine. Not to be outdone Jesse Mee lobbed in a goal over the Keepers head of the Unicornios to keep the teams even at one a piece heading into half. Referee Martin Enright pulled the captains to center and made a show of control to try and keep both teams at bay from dissent. The second half was all Unicornios as they continued to score with two contributions from Justin Dubois that made it past keeper Isaac Seslar. The game almost ended without excitement until Darlene Wright of the Thunder Buddies began verbally berating the Unicornios keeper about alleged slow play. On the ensueing goal kick Thunder Buddies regained control and brought down to the far side of the 18 until Ken Merhege smartly dispossed her of the ball. She immediately fouled Merhege by grabbing him obviously by the kit, and got a whistle from the referee. Wright picked up the ball and kicked it at the Unicornios' unsuspecting player and drew a late yellow card. The game ended there, but not without some color commentary from the Thunder Buddies, and some undeducated use of sarcasm.
The Unicornios look forward to next weeks game and are happy with a 3-0-1 record, with a 3 game winning streak.
