Match RECAP:  Bafana United FC 40

Not sure if possible, but the Center Ref should never ref another Bafana game, and I would consider blacklisting him on all MUSL games.

He mismanaged the entire game on both sides consistently, either not calling fouls  throughout the game, or calling fouls in the opposite direction...this causes players on both sides to get nervous with the constant bad calls...then continues to mismanage the game by using yellow cards.

The first double yellow was "warranted", 1st yellow was because our player (Andreas) was upset that he got fouled while he had the ball on our defense...and the ref calls it the other way on our 18Y box...He had the ball, gets tackled from behind and ref calls the foul against him...our player did yell his bottled up emotions and got a yellow...after he gets the yellow, our player is even more upset and decided to swear, so he deserved the 2nd yellow/red card...although it was a long game of bad calls and mismanagement...so although the 2 yellows were warranted, it was after 75-80 minutes of bottled up frustrations mismanaged.  Between the 2 yellows less than 6 seconds passed.

The 2nd red card was a perfect example of what both BUFC and SC 1924 had to deal with.  Aron had a previous yellow card for UB (early first half)...and after the altercation of the bad call that lead Andreas to get a 2 yellows B2B in a matter of 6 seconds...Aron only tells the ref "I'm sorry you feel this way"...which caused the ref to give Aron a 2nd YC and all of a sudden, in only 60 seconds on the 80th +/- minute of the game we had 2 Red cards.  Aron is a soft spoken church going individual and didn't deserve the yellow.  I encourage asking the SC 1924 managers for their take...so that you don't think we are exaggerated.  Up until then the game was 4-4.

Refs are human and as such can make mistakes, even the best refs can only call what they think they see.  Most refs I'm actually friends with, I respect all refs, regardless of how perfect or not a game is ref'd.  What I witnessed in this game was not what should happen in any circumstance.

Mistakes, or giving yellows/red cards when warranted isn't an issue...giving yellow cards to manage players after 80 minutes of bad calls and no calls is not proper managment of the game and creates unecessary stress.  I know we aren't the only ones that feel this way...having seen him ref in other games, I woulnd't be surprised to find a majority of teams feeling the same way.

If there is a better way to evaluate the ref, please let me know.

Thank you, Luigi Coletta
