For the first time in probably ever - it didn't rain when we played Carpathia! The lineup changed several times right before kickoff as Celtic players were texting and messaging that they were IN and then they were OUT. None of that mattered since Moh Sanni decided to put on another goal scoring clinic. More on Moh in a minute.
The game started out with Celtic possessing the ball and moving it around the pitch with relative ease. It helped that Carpathia only had ten players for the first five minutes. After they gained their eleventh player, Sanni took over. His first goal came fairly early into the game as Celtic passed through Carpathia like a hot knife through butter with the end result a nice finish and a goal. Sanni would add a second goal to make it 2-0. Lil Mike Sheppard, MD (who hates playing outside midfield) made it 3-0 with a beautiful run down the wing and equally nice finish. It looked like the Bhoys were going to absolutely smash Carpathia. BUT WAIT!
Tracee Senter would have none of that! Chipper lived up to his name and got chipped - again. You could blame it on the defenders for allowing a guy to get behind them, but in the end, the dude still chipped Senter. It got uncomfortable when Carpathia made it 3-2 shortly thereafter. Halftime couldn't have come fast enough (that's what SHE said).
At half, Celtic discussed getting back to the possession game that got them the 3-0 lead in the first place. We also discussed Brian Clifton needing to take on the 74 year old guy trying to mark him as well as Ade Badiru making sure the outside wingers were accounted for on defense. Someone might have also mentioned that Pete Shrake and Badiru were so close to eachother in the middle of the pitch that Shrake could have cum on Ade's face. We will leave the player who made that comment anonymous (but he may be like 6'5 and weigh around 265 pounds).
The second half featured Carpathia basically fouling Celtic over and over and over again. Sanni drew two PKs. He scored on one and Ryan Okerstrom tried to imitate Andrew Irvine on the second one and fire it down the middle. Yeah, that didn't work. Sanni would score his fourth goal to make it 5-2 and seal the victory for the home team.
