Mineola 2, Glen Cove 1: Nicole Genova scored the game-winning goal for Mineola less than a minute after Allison Mendes tied the score at 1 with 28 minutes remaining in its Nassau AB-IV opener. Genova beat two girls and shot from barely outside of the 18-yard box to the bottom-right corner of the net to take the lead. Mendes scored off a cross pass from Brianna Lopes across the middle of the 18-yard box to force the tie.
