In the first half, NYGA were looking to impose their game. A lot of cross long balls to the wingers, full backs down the flanks. Very precise passes. At first things our fullbacks were shaky but after 15 min or so our guys were able to adjust. Abdourahmane Sow and Ricardo Chamorro put on a great effort to neutralize their wing attacks. NYGA did get some early shots on goal but our keeper Julio "Frankie" Tsasse was able to contain. 

With a few minutes left in to conclude the first half, Kendan Anderson scored on a assist free kick by Travis Cantrell.

After a hard foul on Kendan "PimPIm" Anderson just outside the box, Travis sent in a hard shot that rolled past a few legs and straight to Kendan Anderson for a clear shot on goal.

Second Half
In the second NYGA pushed hard for the equalizer often leaving 1v1 match ups. We got a slew of scoring changes. Kendan Anderson would score his second after receiving a through pass, rounding the keeper, then scoring on an empty net. At this point NYGA really got it going. They scored on a scrappy play that ended up at the feet of an NYGA that appeared offside. Nonetheless the score stood and the game was 2-1. But with 10 minutes left, after another hard foul this time on Travis Cantrell, Don "Messi" Oba put the game away scoring on a free kick.

NYGA scored on a corner with 5 minutes. We were able to maintain. Tony Ortega made a crucial tackle inside the box to clear the ball off an NYGA forward. Their attacks became predictable and we were able to contain in the final minutes.

 

They are a good fit team but with weaknesses that we were able to identify and exploit. Excellent performance by our team.

Now Frankie and our defense made some crucial saves that could have tilted the game to NYGA. Individual performances was the difference. Frankie made two goal line save, our defense cleared many balls inside the box, and key tackles from our wing backs tilted the game in our favor.
