Match RECAP: Barnstonworth Rovers FC Opened the scoring early in the 4' with a through ball from Jorge that Joaco buried home. They equalized shortly later in the 13' off a corner with a man free middle of the box. We added two more scores in the 21' on a pretty free kick by Jaoco following a foul on captain Dave and a nice short flick pass from Toby to Joaco in the 34'. They added another in the 39' on more missed marks on another corner. We dominated possession and controlled the game but were terrible in defense of set pieces and corners.
Halftime 3-2
Second half saw continued dominance by us. Broke through in the 52' on a through ball from Joaco to Jorge. Added the decisive goal in the 70' on another through ball from Joaco to Jorge. Game was marred late by an ugly incident between Jorge and their center back. On an earlier play their center back put his head down on a ball but Jorge was able to get a foot on the ball first and it hit the player on the top of his head and he went down thinking he got kicked. Players on both teams and the ref agreed there was no kick to the head. Words were exchanged and he threatened Jorge if he came and tried him again. In a late aerial challenge, their centerback's elbow found Jorge's head in the air resulting in a broken nose, 26 stitches, an ambulance ride, the immediate end of the game, and a red card for their centerback from the ref.
