We always have back and forth battles with AO Brooklyn and this game was no exception. They scored first on a beautiful rebound off a poor clearance on their corner that sliced into the upper right corner. We got it right back when Gustavo Garro beat their keeper to a through ball in the box and was taken down. Joaco Lynch converted the PK.
We went into halftime 1-1 with even play, but again are failing to finish too many early chances. Played a more attacking 4-5-1 the whole game.
Early second half saw Dan Jeon continue his better lucky than good early season form with 2 polar opposite goals. The first Pipe Gil flicked to Dan on the wide flank off a free kick and he purposefully buried it past the keeper on the near post. The second Gustavo Garro played him free into the box on a through ball and, while attempting to cross, mishit and it wobbled and flailed over the down keeper tricking inside the near post. They scored on a rocket from the right wing into the far lower corner on our coverage lapse. Joaco got the insurance goal on a solo effort to pick off a bad pass between their defense and handily beat the keeper.
They had the prettier goals but we generated lots of chances and wore them down. Finishing continues to be our Achilles heel with another 2 missed 1v keeper sitters early.
