The Phoenix Blackhawks provide a competitive soccer experience for all children in the City of Phoenix and surrounding cities and towns. Phoenix Blackhawks is a reach out program with the Scottsdale Soccer Blackhawks, currently the largest soccer club in the State of Arizona. Scottsdale Soccer is governed by a hard-working and talented group of volunteers that make up a Board of Directors.
The Phoenix Blackhawks environment is geared towards players who strive for experienced professional training and a higher level of play. Players try out through the Club’s programs and are placed on teams that are trained by the professional Blackhawks Coaching Staff. Each year, Blackhawks Coaching Staff regularly participate in continuing soccer education in order to obtain the utmost in soccer coaching qualifications and licensing through two United States governing bodies: the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Teams compete either in tournament play or in league and tournament play. Most league games will be played in the greater Phoenix area. Tournaments are chosen by the Club and may require in-state (Examples: Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff) and out-of-state travel.
The Division is overseen by the Director of Coaching, Adam Burke (USSF A License) and assisted by the Director of Soccer Operation, Adalberto Peregrino.
Each Blackhawks team is assigned a professional trainer who guides the team through their season. Training begins in August and ends in March or May depending on the age, level and schedule of each particular team. Each team is supported by a Team Manager whose responsibilities are primarily focused on administrative duties in support of the team’s Coach. Except in emergency circumstances, all on-field training and coaching is done by the professional trainer.
In addition to Registration Fees, Phoenix Blackhawks Players pay Club Affiliation Fees, Team Training Fees, Uniform Fees and Team Fees (Team Expenses and Tournaments). The amount of these fees varies from team to team and is determined at the beginning of each season. Regardless of the team’s level of competition, Blackhawks Registration Fees are a non-refundable $250.00.
