Jason Rauscber graduated from Corning West High School in 1988 following a five-year career on the Corning District Swimming team. A versatile performer, Jason was at his best in the breaststroke. He was the top scorer on the team as a junior and senior after being the second top scorer as a sophomore. During his senior season he broke a four-year standing record in the breaststroke and then broke that record another five times during the season. He was named to the All-STC first-team in the breaststroke and also was an honorable mention in the 50 freestyle. In his senior season, Jason finished fifth in the sectional meet in the breaststroke after finishing ninth the year before. According to coach Cyndy Adler, her team captain was a true leader in the pool and in the classroom, serving as Salutatorian of his class. He was named as the co-MVP of the swim team with Hall of Famer Chad Jacoby as a senior and was the West High Athlete of the Month in February of 1988. Following graduation from West High, Jason went on to Carleton College in Minnesota where he swam on the varsity swim team for four years. He is currently a graduate student at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri and is working on his dissertation in Call, Columbia, South America.
