Basketball - 2001

Nick Ruocco finished his four-year varsity high school basketball career at Corning East in 1995 as the second leading scorer in Trojan history. His 1,067 points as a member of the Trojans was topped only by C-PP Hall of Famer Kevin Havens. They are the only Two Trojans to score over 1,000 points. As a junior and senior, Nick was named to the All-STC, First Team and was named as the Steuben County League MVP following his junior year. Nick averaged in double figures as sophomore, junior and senior and was also one of the teams' best rebounders. He was awarded the Don Pieri memorial Award for sportsmanship as a senior. He also played on the varsity lacrosse team for three years where he was a standout midfielder. Became only the third East High Player to play twice in the Empire State games. Nick was the MVP of the lacrosse team as a senior. Following graduation, he attended Hofstra University on a lacrosse scholarship. During his career at Hofstra, he played in three NCAA lacrosse tournaments.Nick is currently working in the marketing department for Applied Theory in New York City.
