JAKE ROGERS graduated from Corning East High in 1995. He was a twoyear starter for the lacrosse team that lost in the state finals to undefeated teams (Garden City in 1994 and Manhasset in 1995). In the 43 varsity games that Jake played, he scored 52 goals and tallied 53 assists. He served as team captain in his senior year when he was named a High School All-American. Following graduation from East, Jake went to Hofstra University on a lacrosse scholarship. While at Hofstra, Jake's team was ranked in the Top 12 all four years. He was the only four year starter in his senior class and served as a team captain during his senior season. In the 58 games he played at Hofstra, Jake scored 26 goals, dished out 17 assists and collected 84 ground balls. Hofstra made the Division I playoffs in three of the four years Jake played, with a quarterfinal appearance against eventual National Champion Johns Hopkins his senior season. Also during his years at East High, Jake was the starting quarterback for the football team for two years.
