The U-9 girls started the tournament ranked #31 and had a big uphill battle to get into the top bracket and have a chance to play for #1 in NorCal.
Even with strong competition in the 1st round odyssey proved to be one of the best in the central valley. The 2nd round would prove to be much tougher playing the #1 and #4 ranked teams. Although they played well they would miss getting into the top bracket by a tie breaker even though they never lost a game. The girls would eventually lose in the championship premier elite bracket to the #1 ranked team entering the tournament to take 10th place overall. This team proved that in one year you can go from being a first year team to competing with the top teams in Northern California, which some have been together 2 and 3 years. Great things are to come for these girls, and their coaches are so very proud of all they accomplished in just one year.
