Match RECAP: FC Aftershock Most of the game was possessed by GWB. Nothing too dangerous was created in the first 30 minutes. They would play the ball to either outside forward and look for a back post cross. Aftershock was able to clear all attempts. The first goal came off a counter attack. Around the 35', Brian Voit received the ball right before half and found Dillon Patterson down the middle. Patterson took a few touches, walked around the goalie, and put it in the empty net. 1-0. Not even 5 minutes later, GWB scored off there own counter attack. They won the ball, played it into the box, and their player made no mistake finishing far post off the volley. 1-1. Haltime. The second half started with Aftershock applying pressure for the first 10 minutes. Tony Bonadonna played the ball to Patterson down the left sideline who crossed it into the box to Caleb Spaulding who just put the header over the net. GWB would settle into the second half and took control for the most part. Overall I'd say possession for the game was 65-35. It appear GWB used the same gameplan as the 1st half by sending the ball down the sideline and crossing it into the box. Aftershock had no problems clearing the crosses. Around the 83', GWB had a corner kick. Aftershock failed on 3 different occasions to clear the ball and one of GWB poked the ball into the empty net. 1-2. Aftershock pushed all guys forward trying to at least tie the game. Around the 88', there was a controversial call as Patterson stepped around 2 defenders in the box and tried splitting 2 more, but was taken down. Ref calls a foul on Patterson as he landed on one of GWB players. (After the game he said he wanted to give us the PK but just couldn't...still don't understand how that makes sense). Game ended a few minutes later.
